Hawaii gas prices up for 5th week
Gas prices increased in Hawaii for the fifth week in a row.
A gallon of regular unleaded in Hawaii averaged $3.35 on Thursday, up 3 cents from a week ago, according to the AAA daily fuel gauge report.
The statewide average also is up 11 cents from a month ago and up from $2.98 a year ago.
In Honolulu, the average price was $3.23, up 2 cents from last week and up 9 cents from a month ago. A year ago it was $2.89.
Gas prices for other Hawaii areas were:
• In Hilo, regular unleaded sold for an average $3 cash advance today.37 a gallon, up 2 cents from last week and up 12 cents from a month ago.
• In Wailuku, gas was $3.71 on Thursday, up 2 cents from last week and up 10 cents from a month ago.
Nationally, the average is $2.63. Gas is the most expensive in Alaska at $3.40 and is cheapest in Missouri at $2.44.
