Dow sinks on Dubai worries; Golden Star Resources leads Colorado gainers

The Dow lost 154 points during Friday's shortened post-Thanksgiving trading session, wiping out the week's gains, with analysts blaming the selloff on worries about financial problems in Dubai. In Colorado, Golden Star Resources was among the only stocks to gain ground on the day.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished the trading day at 10,309.92, down 154.48 points (1.48 percent).

The S&P 500 closed at 1,085.82, down 24.81 points (2.23 percent).

The NASDAQ Composite finished at 2,138.44, down 37.61 points (1.73 percent).

Among actively traded Colorado stocks, Golden Star Resources Ltd. (GSS) was among a pair of actively traded gainers on the day, up 1.36 percent (5 cents) to close at $3.74.

And Allos Therapeutics Inc. (ALTH) rose 0.75 percent (5 cents) to $6.70.

Among the many actively traded Colorado stocks that lost on the day was Vista Gold Corp direct payday loan lenders. (VGZ), down 9.45 percent (31 cents) to close at $2.97.

Other Colorado decliners:

• Evergreen Energy Inc. (EEE) — Down 6.06 percent (2 cents) to 31 cents.

Delta Petroleum Corp. (DPTR) — Down 5.15 percent (5 cents) to 92 cents.

ProLogis (PLD) — Down 4.39 percent (58 cents) to $12.63.

Janus Capital Group Inc. (JNS) — Down 4.3 percent (57 cents) to $12.70.

Apollo Gold Corp. (AGT) — Down 3.87 percent (2 cents) to 49 cents.
